 Series Y - Input modules The priority scale for the development of new products continues. In the project of valve Island Series Y, the first step was to create a valve island which met the needs of the modern market, referring not only to the pneumatic part, but most of all to the electrical part. The project was launched with the Multipole solution and one of the most diffused Fieldbus connections, the Profibus-Dp. After having completed this part we are now taking care of with the development of input modules in order to render possible connecting feedback signals from the field, (end positions of actuators etc.) This input module will be available this autumn. Using our valve island Series Y, it will be possible to connect 48 digital inputs divided in max. 3 modules, in addition to the already known 32 solenoids. Each module will accommodate 8 digital inputs (4 x M12, female connectors with 5 poles). To each connector, 2 inputs can be connected. The male connectors will be of a DUO type which will allow the connection of two different cables for example those of two magnetic proximity switches mod. CST/CSV. The protection class is IP65. The initial module (of a Series Y valve island with fieldbus connection) has a double electrical power supply, one which goes to the electronics (processor) and one which feeds the solenoids. In this way, in case of an emergency stop it is possible to remove all electrical power from the solenoids while still maintaining power supply to the electronics (processor). The expansion modules (YP1E) have their electrical power supply through the internal fieldbus only thus through the solenoid power line. An input module on the other hand, connected to the same internal bus, would be obscured in the phase of an emergency stop if no additional power supply existed and as a result, the electrical signals from the sensors to the control unit (PLC) would be interrupted and it would not be possible to read the actual positions of the actuators during the emergency stop. For the a.m. reason, the electrical input module for Series Y is equipped with an additional power supply. The input modules do not have any restrictions on the mounting position within the internal fieldbus network. They can all be positioned one after the other or alternated with the valve islands / expansion modules. The dimensions are 190x70mm. Shortly we will also have the initial modules for CanOpen and Device-Net protocols available. The a.m. input modules and expansion modules (YP1E) for the valves can naturally be used in conjunction with these new initial modules.  Download product's brochure
